Photo Gallery | NYC Socialite & Fashion Designer Comes to Georgetown to Promote New Book

Washington's premier beauty destination, Nectar Skin Bar, hosted over 100 fashionable ladies at an exclusive book signing on Wednesday.

New York city socialite, model, fashion designer, and author, Tinsley Mortimer, had an invitation-only book signing hosted by Nectar Skin Bar and HYPNOTIQ Harmonie for her new novel, Southern Charm, which is this summer's perfect read by the pool or on the beach.

The event officially opened Nectar Skin Bar's private spa patio for the summer, and offered HYPNOTIQ Harmonie mint julep's and champagne cocktails for the guests as well as cake pops, a lavender candy bar, and beauty treats.

Richmond, Virginia native, Tinsley Mortimer, is a Southern girl who moved to the Big Apple, went to Columbia University, and made an impact on the New York social scene. She was featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Marie Claire as well as "Gossip Girl," and "America's Next Top Model."

Her first novel, Southern Charm, is an inside look at the exclusive Manhattan elite lifestyle, and those involved in the New York social circuit that she became very well accustomed to.

"It's a fictional story with real moments woven and composites of people that I've known and been inspired by," explained Mortimer. She went on to say " It's a spin-off of all the great stories I have, and everything I've experienced. Southern Charm is crazy, but fun and glamorous."

Tinsley Mortimer says her book is fun, flirty, and fashionable. Perfect for any girl who loves fashion and wants an insider's view of the big city life.

Emmy-winning television star, and fashion designer, Carson Kressley, reviewed Ms. Mortimer's book as "A modern-day fashion fairy tale set against the glittering backdrop of the New York social scene."
