Italo Ceramica Opens First US Showroom in Rockville-Grand Opening Event This Thursday | Arts & Culture
Italo Ceramica's Grand Opening Event, which is open to the public, is Thursday, November 14 from 6-9 p.m.
Italo Ceramica, a ceramic tile retailer with 36 stores in Europe, is pleased to announce the opening of its first US showroom located at 725 Rockville Pike in Rockville, Maryland. Design industry professionals as well as the general public are invited to join the Italo Ceramica team on Thursday, November 14 from 6-9 p.m. for a grand opening celebration. Special guests will include Andrea Bacchini, North America Market Director for Imola Ceramica, Italo Ceramica’s partner, and artist Alexander Stefan, who will exhibit his photography as well as offer the chance to win a limited edition print. The celebration will also include Italian wine, hors d’oeuvres and Godiva chocolates.
With a new 8,500-square-foot showroom, Italo Ceramica, which has been in business for 17 years, imports beautiful tiles from Italy and presents them on approximately 500 large format, 8’ x 5’ sliding panel displays with specially made LED lights to showcase the striking characteristics of each tile. Italo Ceramica’s staff also creates state-of-the-art 3D designs to assist customers in making final tile selections. Italo Ceramica’s adjoining 20,000-square-foot warehouse is stocked at all times, allowing same day delivery as well as by-the-piece returns.
Italo Ceramica’s beautiful, distinctive tiles include the Hall collection, which evokes motion, color and atmosphere through a textural surface created using digital technology. Italo Ceramica also carries exclusive Versace tiles as well as tiles from Bisazza. A collection of Bisazza glass wall mosaics is arranged in the Rockville showroom in a pictorial surface to depict the story of Endimione, a character in Greek mythology. Customers can also create their own personalized pictorial using glass mosaic tiles.
“I thrive on the challenge of creating a slice of luxury for everyone I meet,” says Italo Ceramica Senior Designer Dina Reifel. “Italo Ceramica provides me that opportunity with a large showroom of colorful, exotic and interesting tiles that I can portray with precision in our 3D design software so my customers can tweak and appreciate the designs before making them a reality in their homes.” Reifel and Italo Ceramica’s culturally diverse staff have a simple philosophy and that is to “delight the customer.”
"We are excited to apply our overseas experience to the American market,” says Italo Ceramica General Manager Paul Abbott. "We offer unique tile collections popular in Europe that we feel the American consumer will embrace. We are in a strong position as our US venture is a partnership with one of our suppliers, Imola Ceramica, which brings 186 years of expertise in Italian tiles as well as gives us access to favorable stock and pricing agreements."
