Street Closings for Emancipation Day May Affect Travel to Capitals Playoff Game

 

From Sheila Francis: Fans driving in for tonight’s first home Playoff Game between the Capitals and Bruins at Verizon Center at 7:30 p.m. may experience delays due to area street closings for the District of Columbia’s Emancipation Day parade and celebration festivities. The following streets will be closed from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.: 

·         Constitution Avenue, NW and the surrounding streets between 7th Street and the west cross over at Pennsylvania Avenue

 

·         Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and the surrounding streets will be closed between 12th and 14th Streets

 

·         Pennsylvania Avenue north of Freedom Plaza will be closed for vendors

 

·         12th Street, NW will be closed between E Street and Constitution Avenue
